Custom wheel building

I started building wheels professionally in 1996. In those days you would build at least two or three a day, as rims wore out and discs were a way off to becoming the norm. Environmentally there was less waste and the wheels are stronger and stiffer.

I have built a lot of wheels in that time, from original Shimano 105 to Enve carbon and Chris King. Snowflake lacing when it was a thing for the London couriers and some crazy wheels for the Circle’ du Soleil. Training as a Toolmaker gave me the grounding for a feel of working with metal.

I can supply the custom wheel of your choice. I prefer to use DT spokes and brass nipples, and believe 3 cross is the gold standard in bicycle wheels. I tension 3 times and stress the spokes and rim continuously.

My wheels will stay true and strong and can withstand a lot of abuse, if looked after.
